We may not be Irish, but at Bagatelle Bakery and Two Olives, we know how to celebrate like we are! Better than a pot of gold, we will have specialty menu items surrounding the festive holiday. The international holiday celebrates the life of Saint Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland, and the arrival of Christianity in Ireland. The traditional feast day always falls on March 17, which marks the death of the patron saint. Irish immigrants brought the tradition to the American colonies in the early 18th century. What started as a religious holiday honoring the saint has transformed into one of the biggest party days in the world!
At Bagatelle, we will be baking festive St Paddy’s Day goodies for you to enjoy now until the actual holiday. Our chefs have gotten creative this year, incorporating Girl Scout Thin Mint Cookies and Mint Thin Oreo cookies into a couple of their desserts! So you can enjoy some delectable desserts, while supporting a good cause with the sale of Girl Scout cookies.
We will feature a Chocolate Mint Cake with Girl Scout Thin Mint Cookies, with layers of chocolate sponge cake, brushed with mint chantilly cream, topped with Thin Mint Cookies, and sprinkled mint shavings. Another specialty St. Paddy’s dessert will be our Bailey’s Cheesecake, a specialty cheesecake mixed with Bailey’s Irish Crème , and topped with Bailey’s and syrup. We will also have Shamrock Sugar Cookies available as individual or six-packs. We have made festive Shamrock Cupcakes with Mint Thin Oreo Cookies, which are moist chocolate cupcakes with chocolate filling, topped with mint chantilly cream, and drizzled with mint Oreo shavings. Join us at Two Olives for an Irish-inspired Happy Hour, with festive drink specials and custom appetizers, featuring local Walnut River Irish Red Ale, and our chef's spread of traditional favorites! We will be extending our Happy Hour on Tuesday, March 17 from 3-7 p.m. and will feature appetizers including Irish Cabbage and Potato Fritters, Mini Irish Reuben Sandwiches, and Mini Irish Red Ale Battered Cod bites. Our mixologist is working on a festive green drink menu, with a variety of festive Irish cocktails, and of course, green beer! The fun doesn’t stop there, we will have some delicious Irish dinner selections, including Guinness Braised Lamb Shanks, and Irish Red Ale Battered Cod with Spicy Spuds, and our traditional scratch-made Irish Beef Stew.
